How do I submit a news article?

To submit a news article to deviantART, you need to visit the "News Page". To do this click on the 'News' link located above the search, next to the deviantART header. Once on the News page locate the "Submit News" link, located on the top right of the page, next to the other news articles.

After clicking this link you will then be required to enter your news article, beginning with the headline (also known as title), story url or full text, followed by the summary of the article, then picking a topic (also known as Category) and finished by clicking on 'Submit News Story'.

Is the section where you place the title of your article.

Story URL:

The Story URL section in the News submission process allows you to link to an article that you feel should be in the news, that is either found outside of deviantART or on deviantART.

Say for example you found a topic in the forum that you believe is worthy of being a news article as well, this is now possible using the Story URL section of the news submission process.

To use this feature simply grab the link to the forum posting and paste it in the Story URL field and then proceed filling out the rest of the required fields.

Full Text:

Is where you place the full text of your article.

The summary:

Is the section which will appear on the news page, this will allow people to see if they wish to read the complete article before loading the entire page. Your summary should contain a brief section of the news article. The summary will also be shown when utilizing the Story URL feature not only on the outside of an article but also on the inside of the article, when the comments link is clicked on.

Topic:

This section is for choosing what Category your article will be posted under. Note: You may only select one category for your article, so choose carefully!

Once submitted your news will automatically be posted.
