What is the Collections Feature and how do I use it?
Your Collections reside on your Favourites page. Once you have favourited some deviations, you can begin organizing them into collections, just like folders in your gallery!
We've added a Collect button to every page, which lets you drag and drop art right to your collections, from anywhere on deviantART.
Whenever you see a deviation you love, you can use your mouse to drag and drop the deviation straight to your collections! Simply click the 'Collect' button located at the top-right of deviantART to see your collections at any time, and even create new collections right there, without ever leaving the page.
Like someone else's collection? Then Collect it!
We believe a collection is an art piece in itself, so we've added features to let you Comment on collections (*), and even Collect them! If you're a collection owner, you can add descriptions and custom icons to the collections on your favourites page. And Subscribers and Senior Members have full CSS control over the whole collection.
(* Please be advised you will only be able to comment on a Collection if the owner has comments enabled on their Collections.)
Getting Started:
To begin, you will need a deviantART account. As it is unfortunately not possible for logged out users to have a Collection, as Collections can only be attached to a user account and saved for that specific person, in order for them to be able to see it when they later log in again.
Creating Collections:
To be able to create a Collection you will first need to add some deviations to your favourites. Once you have some favourites simply visit your Favourites page and click on the blue "Edit" button, you will then be presented with the option to add a new collection and give it a name. You can also add a Collection by clicking on the 'Collect' button, located at the top-right of deviantART.
Once you have created a Collection you can begin adding art to it. You can do this while on your favourites page in edit mode, simply drag and drop art to any Collection you have created or click on the blue arrow located below a deviation and select the name of the collection you wish it to be added to.
You can also add a piece you love to a collection while browsing deviantART, to do this simply drag a piece of art you like up towards the top of your screen and then drop it the Collections Bar in to the collection of your choice. You can also click on the "Collect" link while viewing a deviation to be able to drag & drop it to the Collections Bar.
See a collection you like? While viewing the collection of another deviant you can also adopt their collection as your own by clicking on "Collect", located at the bottom of their collection page. Or you can simply add their collection pieces to your favourites alone, by clicking on "Add to Favourites".
Removing Collections:
If you are no longer happy with a Collection you have made you can remove it anytime by visiting your Favourites page, once there click on the 'Edit' button, followed by the 'X' on the collection you wish to delete.
