How do I use the Browse interface?

The Browse feature provides many options with which to view all the various categories of Art here at deviantART.

To start, simply click the “Browse” link, immediately to the right of the main “deviantART” logo, at the top of any page. This will place you in the default Browse window, where you will see Deviations from All Categories, in order of submission (newest first), 24 Deviations per page view. (Subscribed members have an option of displaying 60 or 120 Deviations per page – see the link on the right hand side of the page for those options, or your “Browsing” Settings, if you are a Subscriber)

If you wish to Browse within certain Categories, or Sub-Categories, simply use the Drop-Down Navigation Menu System (near the upper left hand corner of the window, just above the Search Box) to select the desired type of Art that you wish to Browse.

If you wish to Browse Deviations sorted by the amount of “Favourites” each has received, simply click the “Popular” link (in the centre of the page). With your Browse window set in this configuration, another option appears; a selection to View Popular Deviations by time. The default view is within the last “24 Hours”, but also available are: “2 Days”, “3 Days”, “1 Week”, “1 Month”, and “All Time”. Clicking on these links will order your Browse window to display Popular Deviations (within the current Category/Sub-Category that you are browsing) within that time frame.

Subscribers only, will also have the option to browse "Way Back".

While Browsing, clicking on any displayed Deviation image, will take you directly to that Deviations display page. Clicking the Sub-Category name underneath any displayed Deviation, will immediately take you to that specific Sub-Category.

At each page bottom are links to advance to the Next Page of Deviations (within your current Browse options), or to the Previous Page (if you have already advanced to “Next Page”), if more Deviations are available to be viewed.

While Browsing within a specific Category, or Sub-Category, the Gallery Directory Structure is displayed in ‘clickable’ links, immediately to the right of the Search Box. Clicking on any of those links will take you immediately to that Category/Sub-Category.

The Search function is also available for use during Browsing. Simply enter any Search term into the Search Box, and click the “Search” button, and results will be displayed

Please note that Browsing deviantART while not logged in, your Browsing options are limited, with only the “Newest” viewing option available, and only by 24 Deviations per page.
