What are the rules concerning the posting of Copyrighted News articles?

Here at deviantART we allow our users the ability to post News articles without previous administrative approval.

With this ability to post unmoderated News it is important to remember that news articles written by other people and found on other websites are copyright protected and as such you are not allowed to copy and repost an existing article in its entirety.

We must insist that you use the Story URL feature. if you wish to share a story found someplace else. You are not allowed to simply Copy and Paste the article that you have read.

Other then this your only option when posting news is to write the entire article yourself using your own words.

To be clear, staff should never see full copies of a news article and we should especially never see the original article with the original copyright statement included. News articles should be treated with the same respect one should give to published literature.

A News posting which is found to be an exact duplication of a published off site article will be deleted without warning.

Users who routinely plagiarize news sources will receive a suspension.
