I was asked by an administrator in the Help Desk to supply a link to my image, comment, forum thread, etc. How do I include a link in my reply?
To include a link in response to a Help Desk Case you will first need to click on 'Reply' below the message. Once you have clicked reply, you can type up any further information needed along with your links.
To include links to a specific comment; Visit the page where the comment is located and find the time stamp showing when the comment was made (they appear something like '19 hours 7 minutes ago' or 'Nov 20, 2009, 5:10:17 PM'). You should then right click the time stamp and select 'Copy Link' (or similar) from your options. You may also open the comment by clicking on this time stamp and then you may copy the URL from your browser by highlighting the URL and then right clicking on it and selecting 'Copy'. You should then right click where you wish to place this link and select 'Paste' from the options available.
To include links to an image; Simply view the image in question in another window or tab and copy the address from the address bar, by highlighting the URL and then right clicking on it and selecting 'Copy'. Once you have copied the URL to your clipboard navigate to your open response window, right click on it and then select 'Paste'. A link will then be auto generated to a clickable URL once sent to us.
To include links to a Forum Thread; Simply visit the thread in question in another window or tab and copy the address from the address bar, by highlighting the URL and then right clicking on it and selecting 'Copy'. Once you have copied the URL to your clipboard navigate to your open response window, right click on it and then select 'Paste'. A link will then be auto generated to a clickable URL once sent to us.
The above methods can also be applied to news articles, journals and more.
Please note, you should always preview your reply before submitting when including links to make sure the links work correctly.
