Can I remove my website button completely?

Yes, simply go to Edit Profile page, then click the User Page Display tab link.

When you view your user page display settings, beside the button for adding the website button, is a checkbox labeled "Remove?". Select this checkbox and hit "OK". Now the button will be removed when you view your page again.
